Fragment #21 - Sunday shopping

It’s weird, maybe unhealthy, how shops can make me peaceful. I especially like Borders: books, notebooks, and the Starbucks coffee upstairs… I’m wandering in the paperchase corner, where they sell all the small colourfull childish notebooks. Various sizes, flashy colours, it’s easy to find and get whatever you want. Life doesn’t work this way, and I’m lucky enough to be able to buy whatever I want almost whenever I want, and this way I can control things… Anyway, healthy or not, at least it works out fine with me. I have a look at the new collection, new patterns, and find one I don’t have yet. Small notebook you can stick in your purse. Pink, I like pink, the girly optimistic colour. I don’t know yet what I’d write in it, as usual. Maybe those dreams I’m having again, it could help find what it means, even if it is pretty obvious… Tame them at least, understand them in a psychoanalytic way. Well, maybe the pink colour would not be positively interpreted by a psychoanalyst…

I go to the cashier, pay for my wee notebook and the French Glamour of the month. It’s one of the French things I still enjoy in Glasgow. Actually, I enjoy more than when I’m in France. And I guess this would please Sarah, to read a French magazine. I think she is getting tired of the Glasgiwian accent, life abroad, Mac Donald…

I hand over ten pounds to the smiling guy at the cashier, get my cash back, don’t pay much attention: I’m already thinking about the nice Mocha Latte I’m gonna have at Starbucks… Maybe a slice of carrot cake too. I’m definitely being unreasonable today…
